A deep dive into the raw patterns of vinyl. Exploring the intersection of analog warmth and digital curation.

My wife and I have 7 crates of vinyl records, some of them real gems, but a lot simply inherited over the years. They are not organized well, and we’re really not sure what all we have. We’ve talked about going through them for years, but it seems overwhelming.

Do you sort by Artist or Genre?
Do you separate seasonal records so they are more easily accessible?
If “Various Artists” gets its own box? How do you find anything in there?

Plus I’m a little slow on some things, do you know how many times I’d have to hum Ba-Ba-Black-Sheep to alphabetise all that?

No thank you.

Then one night around Christmas, I couldn’t find the album I was looking for, so now we’re doing this. To make it more enjoyable I’ve decided to tackle it by testing some of the tools I’ve been building in my overarching EPoB project.
